NAA and Dearborn FEL

I am going to look at a '54 NAA that looks to be in good shape. The owner also has n 8N in baskets and the Dearborn FEL off it. Would the loader fit the NAA? would it require a different front axle? Thanks

fd 8n are just about identical.. that same technology went from 39 into the late 70's.

Different brackets? sure.. that's totally different than asking about a different axle.

A loader off a 8N may or may not fit depending on the bracket etc. The 8N is a bit small all the way around but if the loader has the correct brackets it may well fit hard to say for sure. Either way a loader on a tractor with out power steering is the pits and you will find you need big arms to turn it with

I know my grandfather had to get creative and cut and spread the front frame of his Dearborn loader to fit his naa when he upgraded from an 8N in 1955. The hoods of the naa are taller and a bit different

Yes, but as you said different brackets as the overall length, wheelbase,is a couple inches different I believe

Yup. I've seen some rear brackets that have built in adjust.ent to allow for that kind of thing.

As you point out, usually nothing a torch and welder can't fix ;)

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like I may end up with the NAA and the 8N so switching the loader isn't an issue. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
