cam and weight assy

Wander why the cam and weight assy(FAA 12176)0r(311184) is not available anywhere except buy buying a complete distributor, whereas the one for a sidemount 8N (8N 12176) is available from most suppliers.

I have 3 distributors on shelf. One has 8N stamped in weights and others are blank.

An 8N side mount distributer runs counterclockwise. The over head valve Ford engines distributor runs clockwise. The cam and weight assemblies will interchange but they are designed different because of the difference in rotation.. You probably won't notice the difference until you have them side by side. You will notice the difference if the engine is running.
