Previously posted problem with hydraulic remote leaking. I brazed the leak and ran the tractor for a while. The steel line has split again. I can not tell if this is a traveling split or a new split all together. Local mechanic tells me the line will keep splitting due to age and poor initial design. My brazing ability or lack of will not help much.

Local shop has the power beyond adapter plate in stock but i would have to find a top cover(C5NN476B).There is a new one in Canada but it is broken. All or most of the used 5000 tractors in the area have been sold into Mexico.

My options are:

Purchase a used top cover, power beyond adapter, and dual remote assy and save original parts for future restore.

Discover what each of the four lies in the attached photo do in order to tap the block marked with the black arrow. Purchase dual remote assy

Braze the entire line on the tractor.

Please help and advise. I am favoring option one but two would work as well.

Hi Rusty

Just a suggestion what about replacing steel lines with hydraulic hose? We have done that on other applications for Ford tractors to replace steel lines. I have also had a local hydraulic shop make up replacement steel lines for the front on my combine harvester. A local hydraulic shop
would be your best bet.

Cheers Matt

That would work on the green, blue, and red lines. The yellow however, is fit in a way that would make that expensive if not impossible. The yellow line runs around to the other side of that block. End result, I still only have one remote.

Not sure of the part number, but you can buy the "blank" to put over the power beyond plate new, on most websites last time I looked.. use it and a power beyond plate and relocate to a
"cross" or prince hydraulic control double spool control valve, mounted on flat top fenders at a angle to the driver... or put a mount in , off of tranny holes. then sell your rare unicorn for a fortune on ebay.

If I do wind up doing that the after market dual remote valve on this site is around fourteen hundred bucks. I like the idea of a restored tractor., but I have to have a running tractor. It is easier to restore after I make my first million dollars selling hay. Thanks for the thought

you can buy the cross dual spool valve for $150... a power beyond for $70,, and the hydraulic cap for $47... and a bunch of hoses and hydraulic couplers for another $200 and then have $500 bucks total in something that could be mostly removed and sold later. You would be out the cap ($47) and could pull the power beyond and all the hydraulics

Depends if you want the tractor original,,, If so,, take the parts off to a really good machine shop, have them remove all the steel lines and weld on new ones and go back original. early rowcrops were a bit exotic on steering and hydraulics.

I get in tons of shredder tractors with a power beyond and a cross valve on the fender. Most are 3 spool valves and LOTS of fittings(couplers) on the back. with 3 spools that had one for each bat wing and one for the wheel height adjustment.

I'm in south Texas near San Antonio. I appreciate the offer but it is to cold to come to your house

Assuming I get the PB plate and top cover; should the dual remote valve have a pressure relief on it. From what i have read in my Ford manual, the pressure relief is in the top cover with the three point cylinder circuit.

Thanks. I found a Cross valve, SBA22 part # BA211AAG3EAO, that seems to fit the purpose well. Adjustable pressure relief and PB capable if I add a loader with grapple in the future. Any additional advise before I start is welcome.

Power port on a power beyond plate is in the circuit after the pump and before the fluid gets to the 3 point lift control, so I don't think that the internal relief valve will protect anything on the remotes, so the control valve for the remotes should have its own relief valve.

(quoted from post at 13:30:18 04/22/16) Thanks Sean. I was thinking that I had read that correctly in the service manual.

Do you by chance live in Adkins near loop 106? I've seen a 5200 down there in the past.

Thanks for the offer but I ordered one from, I believe, Smith's Tractor Parts before I checked back here. If that one doesn't work out for some reason, I will call. Where are you located?

I'm further East. Seguin address but live between La Verna and Seguin. The 5200 stays in Mc Queeney most of the time. I help Dad between Mc Queeney and New Berlin
