Ford oil pan sump tube.

Ok ... I've been all over this darn tractor new filters new bolts on and on./: so i now have oil pan gasket placed new and ordered a new replacement bottom plug as the old one broke. I am in need of a oil pan sump tube or " oil pick up tube " for the year model 4000's? I have ran numbers as they come up to be 8n6615 I think is for 8n 9n 2n etc. but nothing comes up for that year model. And the one that I have is diff from the 8n6615 style tube ? My question is will a 8n 9n tube for this tractor and match up with the center drain hole enough for the plug with screen to be pushed up and snug tight without any damage to plug or tube or does these year models have a diff pattern to them ? The one on it now looks like a (S) shape and the 8n model repro look straight with a small curve to it? If it will fit right I will order one but not very sure as this is my 1st ford.

I can't answer your question either way, but it may help
others answer if they know what 4000 you have.
I'm not sure what you mean by "year models".
Is it the 4 cylinder or 3 cylinder engine? Gas or diesel?

Yes it is a 4 cylinder engine gas. I think the .172 ?
I am trying to locate a oil pickup tube for that year
model and the only thing I can get to come up is
models for 8n 9n etc. the one on my 4000 the tube
is more "s" shaped as it comes down to the oil drain
hole and the ones for the 8n models are straight
with a short bend. Now that being said ..........? Is
the oil tubes on the 8ns to the 1964 models some
what the same. Or did they change after the 1950s
? I would like to just find the part number to get the
correct replacement.

The New Holland parts site lists four different part numbers.
The last one looks to be D1NL6622A. Here's a Link
Maybe that will get you headed in the right direction.

There are 2 different ones you could have, depending on which pump you have. The gear pump pickup tube bolts to the bottom of the pump. The gearrotor pump pickup tube bolts the side of the pump.

I have both types available, email me if interested.

Thank you for giving us the right answer John.
I'm glad someone who actually knows chimed in!
Otherwise we're left to the parts catalog.
