I trashed the original return line that goes from the Cav pump to the first injector and replaced it with the transparent weed eater fuel hose I had quick acces to, Anyone see a potential problem with this?

It should be fine, I have seen that
stuff burn as others said on weedwackers
and it just chars the same, might not be
as durable to impact and abrasion tho. I
would order proper stuff next time you
get parts but wouldn't be afraid in the
time being

If it's not rated for diesel fuel, the diesel fuel itself will eat it up sooner or lTER!
I put some clear tygon on the diesel return lines on my Kubota 2 years ago, no problems so far.

About 15 years ago the return line on my JD 4430 started leaking.
Deere wanted over $100 for a new line. I made my own with yellow
Tygon fuel tubing. It is still working today.

Tygon is fuel line, just a different type. It is intended for fuel oil, lubricating oil and such so not as issue
