Any 3600 Ford owners out there? Looked at one this evening with a 6' finishing mower, the lady wants $4000 for it, ran out good, mower cuts grass good as well. I don't need the mower and would sell it immediately if I buy the tractor. My question is about the rear wheels, it has 24" rear wheels with 14-9 tires, I always assumed Ford used 28" wheels only on these 3000 series tractors, was 24" an option on these 3600 Ford's ?

ya some had 24 inch wheels it dont help it any but wont hurt it eather gas or diesel good little tractors worst thing is the brakes but if ther adjusted right thaywork ok.

You dont mention if its gas or diesel, either way there good, mine is a 1979 diesel, has been a very reliable tractor. I also have 14.9-24
tires with power adjust rims.Dont loose any sleep over those tires, they will do just fine.

For an average 3600 with a decent mower that
would be a good price. Depending on tires,
tin, blow by, etc one would probably pay $5K
here for just the tractor.
Gas or diesel would sell about as quickly
but the gasser might be a bit more popular
here.
I haven't looked.at 3600 specs for a long
time but know for certain 14.9x24s were
optional on a 3000 so will bet they were
also for 3600.
Wheel weights will be a bit harder to find
for 24s but they are out there.
Those are outstanding small tractors.

It is a diesel tractor with power steering, cant believe I failed to mention that, think I'm gonna go ahead and get it and if I don't like it then resale it, if it turns out to be a keeper then I may sell my 5000 Ford as its a beast to haul around......

They have brakes ? I thought that was just a foot rest .
, LOL .

Has anybody used the 2" wide shoes from a 3500 on the other 3000 series ? and noticed any real improvement ? I noticed ( after reading a previous post ) I had 1/4" inside and outside of the wear pattern inside my drums so it looks like they would fit .
