1969 Ford 3400 + 730/19-425 loader

Hi Folks

I asked about 2 months ago about parts for connecting a Ford 730/19-425 to a 1969 Ford 3400 Agricultural tractor.

I posted some pictures in regards to how the shaft from the engine to the hydraulic pump might look.

I've got the pulley adapter from the motor side off now and it looks like the picture I've posted.

The 4 bolt adapter is not what I expected. I expected a splined hole and not something that was pressed.

So my question is what is part# 16 in the photo attached?

Thanks :)
PS be gentle, I this is my first tractor :)

3400 should have had a splined shaft. Not uncommon to find stripped splines and the shaft welded to the adapter. That makes disassembly difficult without replacing all parts. Not uncommon for the splines to be loose and rattle at this age. Yours might have had a previous makeshift repair. John

My guess (knowing that the original owner was a large municipality in my area, who probably had a fleet of tractors), is that this is some non-Ford part (although it has the industrial yellow paint on it).

definitely not splined from what I can see (although I can get it on a press, pop it out and be certain).

thanks

hey Bob, I've got a 4 bolt splined flange hub from my 3400 setup (I went with a chain coupler union on the outboard side). I could save you CNH prices.

I can also shoot some pics (I made mine match the 776 loader if you look up the parts diagram on the CNH website).

My best guess (at least until I go to this shop) is that I need:

which is all of 16,17,18 in the photo I have.

thanks all, will update the forum once I know

Bob
