I stood around all day Saturday at Macfadden's auction. Huge crowd made it difficult to hear or to bid. I made a fair bid on several item but I was outbid way beyond what I considered reasonable. I guess it was just the first auction where the weather made people think spring.
I waited all day to bid on a Ford TW 25 that looked a little sad. It was stated to need a new hydraulic pump and one of the rear tires was soft. I had some info before the auction that the tractor ran good and that there were no issues with the engine or tranny. I bought it for under $5000. I know that seems pretty low for a 4 wheel drive tractor so I expect to find some surprises .
Have any of you Ford people had any experiences with the Ford TW series tractors, especially the hydraulics and replacing the pump? Is it a "do it your self" project or something better left to the experts?
