Converting ford 4000 backhoe to farm tractor with 3 point.

2 years ago I bought a 1964 4 cylinder gas 4000 industrial backhoe with SOS that works. Its the light duty version. Last year i took off the backhoe to repair the one mount and tested the PTO pull lever it turns the pto, and the lift arms seem to work, but always seem to get stuck at the top but if you stand on them they go down. I put the backhoe back on and its decently easy to do so i was thinking of just swapping back and forth as i dont use the backhoe very much.

Problem is i dont have the lift arms or the leveling arms and most ebay aftermarket listings and even this site only say 1965 onwards. Will parts from a 65 and up work on the previous generation? I am also missing the chain to go to the arms but i do have the attachment point by the pto so i can just make those.

Can someone measure a 1964 or earlier lift arms and leveling arms eye to eye and post them? Or tell me if 65 and later 4000 arms will work?

Thanks js

(quoted from post at 06:39:57 03/08/16) once you get a 3pt load on there the arms may worbably some corrosion from no use after years.

Definitely taking a risk, i doubt the arms moved very much if at all since 1964. Good news is the tractor has been stored indoors it seems most of that time and cared for.

Once i get the arms on there it wont be able to creep up so high it gets stuck, iguess stuck is the wrong word, just needs a little weight to get down enough that the lift lever controls it.

Do you still have the seat from that tractor and is it a reversible seat and if so do you want to sell it. I have been looking for one for a while and have had no luck.

Thanks

They dont have reversible seats, they have 2 seats.

Placed my order today from this site, hopefully I got the correct stuff ordered, and this place was overall cheaper than Ebay! Can't wait to see if the old backhoe can do some farming.
