Engine 3.3 Head?

Picked up a 4000 SU. Going to be needing a head and intake for it.
From what I've found these engines (3.3L) were used in these 4000 SU and in the 4600.
Where they used in anything else?

Also guy on Ebay has a head he says will work on 2000, 2600, 2610, 3000, 3600, 3610, 4000, 4600, and C7NN6090AB.
From what I've found the 2000 has a 2.2L
The 4000 had a 2.8L engine and the 4600 had a 3.3L
I asked him about that. He said the book shows it will fit all those tractors.
Guess that could be. Piston strokes could be the difference.
Can anyone tell me if the same head will work on all those tractors?
4000 SU

Those engines were measured in cubic inches, not liters, although so much has gone metric these days a lot of places list everything that way even if the engines were originally spec'd in inches. The 4000 SU had 3 different engines, a 201 ci diesel engine, a 192 ci gasoline engine on the earlier ones made prior to 4/1/68, and a 201 ci gasoline engine on those made on or after 4/1/1968. I assume that it's the one in that ebay listing that you linked to. That one was made on or after 4/1/1968, so it has the 201 ci. gas engine.

They used the same basic block design in the 3 cylinder engines for many years, so heads from many different models would fit, but not all of them would perform the same. The 3000, 3600, 3610, 4000, 4000 SU and 4600 all used the same head, but the 2000, 2600 and 2610 series used a different head than the 3xxx and 4xxx models, so someone saying that they have a head that will fit all of those models is "correct" but you really need to know exactly what it came out of to know if it is the proper one for your engine.

Pretty sure he's right - it WILL fit all those models.
The 3.3L (201 c.i.) engine was used in the 4000, 4000SU, 4600, 4600SU, 4610, 4610SU, and I think at least some of the 4630's. It was also used as a power unit for for things lie Iron Mule logging forwarders.

I was thinking diesel, but after looking at your link, I see it's a gas. What I said still applies, except I don't think the 4630 was available as a gas, and maybe not the 4610, either. The ones used as power units were likely all diesel, as well.
I had seen that listing for the tractor. Looked like a decent deal, but too far away for me.

Any head from 65-83 will work 2,3,4000, 26,36,4600 and industrial derivatives.
After 1983 (10 Series) they went to 9/16" head bolts so I do not know if those will fit.
Is this a gas or diesel?
If Diesel, they changed the intake ports in the head at 1976 from square to oval so you will need to get the corresponding oval manifold.
I can not say if the change was likewise on the gassers.
I knew you have Ns and Hundreds. Is this 3 cyl a departure from those?

Why do the 2000/2600 have a different part number for the head than the 3xxx and 4xxx models? I thought that it was because they had larger combustion chambers and therefore less compression, which would mean that they would fit and work, but you wouldn't be getting as much compression and therefore would be getting less hp.

Thanks for the replies Ultradog and fordframer. Good to know. Shouldn't be that hard to find what I need knowing that.
Yes, mines a Gasser. The one on Ebay is Diesel.
Not departing from the Ns just yet. Just adding to the collection.
Be interesting trying this one out.
Figured for the price I couldn't go wrong.

You were right the first time - the switch to oval ports happened with the introduction of the x600 models in '76.
