Some of the stuff I see on these tractors just amazes me. Have the 841 torn down for engine repair, checking the front axle and notice that the center bushing is worn out. No problem just take the pin out and replace the bushing/pin as required, pretty straight forward until I realize that the pin and retainer have been welded in place and I don't mean just tacked it is welded 100% front and rear including the retainer. GRRR!! Any suggestions other than replace the bolster?

If you have a salvage yard nearby they may have one.
The bolsters aren't a common failure part so likely available.
And it sounds like you already have it off for engine work.
Otherwise, as Hobo said, make it work as is.
It's not a high speed bearing/bushing by any means.

If I had a stash of good bolsters I would price them at a million dollars each. I have a hard time finding a good one when I need one... Good ones are rare repair parts are high that reminds me a guy on ebay sells the repair parts.

The next problem is the axle pin bore egged out if it is NO bushing will last long unless the axle is welded up and bored out $$$ forget JB weld it will beat it back out BTDT.... I welded one up and bored it out I has 5hr. in it

My Money is on the axle bore is shot that's what got the old bushing... Its just another bump in the road...

I agree with Hobo. cut the old bushing/pin out, repair the axle as needed for a new bushing, rebush and pin and go.

That is probably what I will do. I am now 67 years old and it will probably outlast me. It's not like I am making a crop with it, mainly bush hogging, moving hay and such.

Over the years I just spray the pivot bushing on my old tractor with some spray graphite, at first I used powder graphite, but it seems like the spray material gets further into the bearing.

I do not want to repair that bushing again

I assume the newer tractors have grease able fitting on this pivot point, I know you do not want to use anything that would attract dirt, as it will wear out the bushing much faster,
