850 Ford carburetor replacement to a Zenith 13877

I'm thinking of getting a new carburetor my 1955 Ford 850. I see that the Zenith 13877 is described as being a better replacement than the original carburetor design but I can't find much more information about it than that. Does anyone have any more information, experience, or advice on the Zenith? Thanks for your help.

If you have the original MS carb I would
overhaul that. If you aren't comfortable
doing it yourself board member Royse does a
very nice job on them.

The factory carb is by far better then any replacement carb you can buy any place and if it can be rebuilt do so or have Royce do it or other such person. Many tractor dealers have people that can/will rebuild a carb for you

Royce is a guy in the forums that rebuilds carbs for people and if you look around you should be able to find one of his posts and then talk to him by way of one of his posts. He has a number of posts in the 9N/2N/8N forum just in the last day or 2

850Fordman I like the original Marvel Scheblers.
My experience with the Zentiths is that they work great,
but when they need parts, the parts can be hard to find.
Take a look through the parts section. Basic gasket kit can be
found easily, but jets, throttle rods, choke plates etc are scarce.

If you decide to have the old one rebuilt I can do it for you.
If you want to do it yourself I would be happy to help via phone
or email. I would also be interested in buying the old one if you
decide to go with the Zenith. Your tractor, your call.

BTW, welcome to the forums!
