Early 861 Diesel Pictures?

I have an early 861 Diesel and I am trying to figure out the original position for the following bits:

Key switch - was this even original?
light switch
work light switch
manifold heater button - I believe this was on the under side of the left hood panel?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hate having things not as they were originally. I see some basic shots in the owner's manual but I don't have any good solid photos.

Key switch (on/off, not on/off/start) was original. (Turn it on, then hit the button on top of the transmission.) Left side, kind of beside the steering box. Light switch is
opposite the key switch. Work light switch was on the light housing, I think. Manifold heater button was on teh underside of the hood panel, like you thought. Can't remember if
it's on the right or left side. It was on one side, the start button for SOS-equipped tractors was on the other...but it's been over twenty years since I sold my 971...

Thanks for the info!

The "on/off" key is located on the left hand side - actually on the metal cover that covers the steering box - pointed out to the side of the tractor? This is where my current starter button is located. With the light switch on the opposite side where the switch would have to be pulled out from the right side of the tractor?

I have my original heater button on the left hand side but someone put a button on the outside of the hood panel...

The actual starter button I've got and replaced to make it functional once I source the correct starter and manifold heater solenoids.

Thank you again for the information!

zary, sounds like you don't have the owner's manual. If you go to the NTC (other tractor) web site, they have hundreds of manuals available & view-able on their site for free, including your tractor, which describes & pictures most of what you are asking about.

That's just it. I have downloaded both the gas and diesel versions of the owners manual and it's vague to say the least. Left side of tractor under the hood panel - got it but where? I have a very out of round hole on that side down low that someone put a starter button in. The manual just points at the side of the tractor for the key switch and never actually shows where the manifold heater button is.

the SOS starter button is on the right side(same as lights) so manifold heater should be left(same as key). on the flat panel directly above the key. it would be facing down(you push up on it to activate)
