Another 3400 issue...

Well, thanks to you guys, Frenchy got the seals in on the brake shaft and all is well with that, but now the right axle has started leaking. You just pull the wheel and what else?
 
I trust you have an I&T FO-31 manual?
It is pretty well spelled out there and would be a lot to type out on this itty bitty phone.
Suffice it to say, you will need to build a couple of tools. One, a socket wrench welded onto a suitable pipe to remove/reinstall the bearing retainer nut and two, a very long bearing puller to pull the bearing and then a press to put it back on.
Neither tool would be diffucult to make if you have a torch and welder but the job isn't one like a tractor split that can be done with ordinary hand tools.
 
Frenchy lives next door to me and both he and I are welders by trade. He has a very nice welding machine. I don't know if he has the manual of which you speak. He does not go on the computer.

Hard to believe you don't have a repair manual for your tractor.
Both the I&T and an owner's manual.
Both are chock full of useful information.
The mantra around these forums is:
"If you can afford the tractor you can afford the manual."
Look on Ebay, Amazon, your local CNH dealer or even places like tractor supply for one.
About $30 and worth every penny.
There is just no reason to spend half an hour typing out a step by step procedure for things like this when it is all thoroughly covered -with pictures and descriptions - in the manual.
 
Well, Dawg, I went next door to see Frenchy and told him what you said. He showed me the part in his official Ford repair manual, and it is vague as to the exact procedure for replacement of the axle seals. Maybe the I & T manual might be better for that? He has all the factory manuals, they're pretty non specific..
