Ford 3000 fuel injection pump

Was at a farm today in Australia working on a tractor, when I saw a Ford 3000 later series with the flat grille --it had been parked several years ago when the owner was bush hogging the side of the road and the roads guys had put a steel post in the grass and he did not see it - the post struck the side of the injection pump and broke a plug off of the plate on the side -he said he drove it home and the tractor started to miss and he parked it where it sits now - and bought a neighbour's larger tractor-a 1040 JD -I did not take any pictures -should have - the tractor is not seized -manual steering, two stage clutch -sank down in the dirt its been sitting there so long - he would sell it - not sure what model injection pump it is -looks like a CAV -identical to the one in the YT picture- possibly there is nothing wrong with the pump??? and it started to take on air through the broken plug ???? What does that stem and plug do that are mounted to the plate?
Thanks in advance

I would think that plug would be available from CNH. Or, even the plate would be readily available from any rebuilder.
As long as the screws that bolt it onto the body aren't stripped out it should be a simple fix.
If it has been sitting for a long time you might have to lift the top cover and free up the metering valve - they sometimes get sticky but that also is a simple task.
Worst case, it would be a new pump = about $700 US. Factor that into your offer.
They are Very good small tractors.

From New Holland, it looks like the price for the plate with the tube is around $112.00, and the bolt is around $28.00, and both are still available.
