I am working on a 1970 Ford 4400 front axle. I removed the front axle pivot pin and noticed it does not have a tight fit as it is inserted through the axle bracket and into the oil pan. The pin does not show excessive wear. Should the pin have a tight fit into the oil pan or was it designed to have a bit of clearance to allow for build variation?
