860 no lift on 3pt.

Bought this tractor knowing the the 3pt was not working. I have no psi at the hydraulic test port. I swaped the piston pump with a known good pump off my 640, still no psi. Checked in side the transmission with the clutch in, saw no stream that would indicate a rusted hydraulic line, no swirling inside the rear end. Does this sound like a stuck or bad unloader valve? As a side note some one had pump off and lift cover as there is atv all over.

That is one possible cause for no pressure, as a pump can not make pressure without a flow restriction & if unloader valve is unloading/dumping the pump output, there is no such restriction. "No pressure" is relative. Even when unloading, the dump flow passes through the backpressure valve, so you should still see perhaps 40PSI......a far cry from 2000, however.

It's not even showing 40 psi, no movement on the gauge at all.

Use a rag for a "seal" around air chuck & hyd fill hole to slightly pressurize the hyd sump & see if that will prime pump, or just apply to dipstick tube.

I pulled the hex plug out of the pump and primed it, still no movement on guage at test port.

hat doesn't do much to rid the lines from sump to pump of any air.

Update, the hydraulic piston pump was bad. I rebuilt the pump, and bled it. Now have movement on the 3 pt. Will replace the o rings on the lift cover and cylinder.
