looking for a front 2" receiver solution for my 1954 NA

I'm getting too old to turn and watch my 3 point blade so I'm looking for a front mount receiver that will accommodate a snow plow made for autos. Anybody know a source, manufacturer part number. Needs to be a Class 4 or 5 strength at a minimum!

i don't think you will find something like that that bolts to the bumper!

why not a front dozer blade on a pulley arangement..

The snow blades come with the electric controls for up and down and tilt. The thought is the receiver give additional flexability to use additional attachments.

I doubt that you will find any factory type of 2" receiver plow. Not much market for a plow to mount to the front of a 60+ year old tractor model.
Also, remember the Farmall one-point hitch tools weren't so rigid. Maybe a hydraulic diverter valve and an OEM Ford hydraulic lift snow plow
would serve you better. Our son plows a whole lot of snow with that style on his 600.

I found the plow manufactured by Snow Bear, which is available through Home Depot etc. The difficulty is finding the receiver for the tractor. I'm going to measure the frame and contact Reese and Curtis hoping they have a off the shelf solution.

I would be willing to bet you are not going to find any off the shelf front receiver for a tractor, yet alone trying to find a class 4 or 5.

I just put an original dearborn front mount plow on my 860. My tractor literally had nothing on it for a front plow, so buying everything cost me about $1000 total- $300 of that was for a rebuilt cylinder and lines. I have hydraulic up and down pressure. manual angle.

other than the fact your tractor is an NAA, with the odd ball top cover for the remote hydraulic valve, your cost would be similar.

Doubt you could buy a plow setup like you are talking, and then pay someone to fab a front bumper to fit it for the same

I'm with BIG MARV on this one as well, try to find a Ford factory snow plow set up. They are out there, just takes patience to find one. Even if you were to find a front mount receiver, you will need a subframe to mount the receiver to the tractor because you don't want to try to push snow with something mounted to a front bumper.

dm,
I think the attached picture is a proper frame for a front blade for your tractor.
they are out there somewhere, just add the blade and hyd line and you are ready to go.

also goggle "front blade for ford tractor", you will find many variations of frames and blades.

but many of the home made blades attached to the front axle place a lot of forward tilt pressure on the front axle,
this one places the lift pressure on the frame of the tractor and pushes the load from the rear axle where you have the more power.

Thanks to everyone for all your input, I really appreciate it. I've spent the better portion of the today and many other days trying to locate the frame you all have mentioned with no luck. That is why I started down this path. My hope was someone else had reach this same level of flustration and found a solution.

They are out there. What part of the country are you in?

I had to drive quite a ways to get mine, but I still found one within a few months I believe.

agan.. finding an off the shelf 2" rcvr for a 60 yer old tractor may be impossible. for one, the front axle ain't extremly strong due to the kingpin arangement.

these snowplows and dozer blades we are talking about are under-frames.

look at this one: might work for you, it opened for me

said it was for a ford.
also you might think about looking for a front end loader and just replace the bucket with a blade
more than one way to solve a problem, must think outside the box.

You need a subframe that goes to the
rear axle. There is no "frame" on these
tractors, pushing with the front will
only break things if it's not
transferred to the rear axle with a
proper frame. And no snowplow that
mounts to a hitch receiver will take
the force of a farm tractor for long if
at all

It did open and I appreciate the help!

Thanks that makes sense! The plow I looked at is designed for use with a truck. I have seen trucks with plows on them and most cases they have been rode hard and put away wet.
