Loose Balls (3 point lift)

75 2000. One 3 point lift end ball came out. 2 others very loose (on tractor end). I do not weld. I can get new ends for about $15 each (I need 3) plus shipping. What would be reasonable fee for a welder to cut 3 ends off and weld 3 new on? OR, 2 new arms in this site, for $125 for both plus shipping. ???

Are you sure you dont have the ""removeable ball"" type ends where you turn the balls sideways and they fall out, and you can put in the larger or smaller balls. It was usually on the ford 3000 models.. It has a dimple on the inside for a little spring clip to hold the balls in. The spring clip and dimple are usually missing and banged up...

Either way... a lot of times you can simply weld a bead to hold the balls in.

Not being able to weld limits you a tad. To save money on a farm call for mobile welding, you could take the arms in to a shop for them to cut n paste your new ends.

Be sure and measure length before cutting off. I had ends repaired and they came up short. Had to
replace with new arms. Should be 31 1/2 center to center of ball.

the lift arm balls were well worn and loose on my old TO35 Ferguson tractor.

one day I was watching my son plow with the tractor and I had one of those moments,

what if he were to hit a rock or root and one of those old worn ball straps broke,
what would happen to that plow, tractor and could he be hurt before he could get the tractor stopped.

so I just stopped him, we took the arms loose, when to the local farm supply store, bought new arms,

cost a bit more, but I felt more at easy as he wanted to plow, just my story.
