Can you tell me how to change the pedestal oil? I can't figure out where the drain plug is. The place where I think the drain plug should be has a square hole. Is that the drain plug?

On my TO35 I do not think there is a drain on the steering gearbox,

I think you would have to use a pump an suck the oil out of the gearbox.

The 961 is a row crop model, completely different from your T035.

There is indeed a pedestal drain. It may be hidden if you have a loader (or loader bracket) installed.

Opening the drain will likely drain a quart or two of water before the oil drains.

Thanks, I figured out the square hole is the drain plug. Now to get it to budge! So far my 1/4 inch drive is just slipping off. Can't find my cheater.
The problem I am experiencing is that when it's really cold out, it takes about 20 minutes until I have any steering. The oil in the pedestal looks like sludge, so I am hoping that getting the water out of there will fix this steering issues. Is this probably what the problem is?

Does it have power steering? It was standard on 961s.
