NAA and Ferguson TO 20 trans input shafts interchangeable?

So I have a transmission input shaft
and guide tube I saved from a parts
tractor years ago. I have a Ford NAA I
want to take the Sherman trans out of
and am wondering if the Ferguson shaft
will work in the NAA as a replacement.

I have never switched them between the two but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you shaved a hair of the backside and modified the top on the sherman case you could put it in the ferguson so why wouldn't they swap to opposite way.

Thanks Kirk, I never knew that about the Sherman needing to be ground down to fit a Ferguson, I have only seen a few Ferguson with Sherman but wasn't sure if it was a different model one etc. So yes if they bolt up the same then as you say shaft should go between them fine

I know about 15 years ago when my father wanted to rebuild his the shaft assembly was around 8 bucks MORE than the whole new water pump was.
