OK. installed new bearings, rings, had the head all done professionally ,new gaskets etc and yet only get 45 to 50 lbs compression?? Why?? Have the valves set at 15 cold and checked several times, new compression tester, done all I know so need some EXPERT Help???

Did you lube the cylinder when you put the piston/rings back in?? A rebuilt engine will tend to be low on compression till it has been started and run a bit since it has to be broken in

I did very well and soaked the pistons in oil before installing?? Thnks for the reply, the only thing, it doesn't have enough to start it I guess?? Got good fire to plugs and points so??

Don,

Did you use a glaze breaker on your cylinders so that the new rings will mate to the walls?

Seen more then one rebuilt engine that needed to be pulled to get it to start up the first time
