I have the hex head bolt hidden under the front pump hub on my 63 2000 that I need to tighten. I was half expecting to find the slotted head that I would have no way to tighten so I reckon it ain't as bad as it could be. Last time I used a skinny adjustable wrench which is not one of my preferred fastener manipulation tools but it was all I had at the time. So I can take the correct wrench this time I need to know what size it may be.
If I can get the shaft out of the way I would go ahead and pull the hub and change the seal behind there. But the question is whether these are prone to needing a speedi-sleeve or if the hub OD is usually unworn from the seal after 50+ years. I haven't looked yet but who/where can one find a speedi-sleeve for these (p/n appreciated)?
