Ford 1210- Worth getting?

Good morning,
I am looking at a ford 1210 4wd - not sure the age. Model AC3537. It does not run. I have been trying to cost a rebuild kit for it and have not found the whole kit, yet. Parts look available. I understand the head is prone to cracking.
It needs fenders - rusted out, looks like there are some old stock near me actually. It has a belly mower. It is missing a wheel. Guys says it has new injectors. Has 3 point hitch.
They are asking 1500 which judging from the cost of some of the parts, chance of the head being cracked ect, may be on the high side for the condition.
My question is A. anyone know were I can locate and price a rebuild kit? or do I have to price individual comps.
B. worth getting? I can rebuild it no problem, if parts are available. or should I stay clear.
At what value is it worth going into? Any other things I should be looking for on it?

Unless you just "have to have" that tractor I'd suggest you keep looking. You could easily put more into repairing it than a different tractor in running condition would bring. Take a look at these on Tractorhouse for a comparison of what dealers want for a similar tractor, recognizing that what the dealer wants may be different from what they are willing to sell it for.

That tractor is not worth that kind of money with those problems. I repaired a 1210 just last year for a friend of mine. The engine was toast and the head was cracked. A used engine set him back $1750 along with another $200 to get it shipped in. Radiator repair, new filters and fluids, starter rebuild and labor put repair bill including engine at close to $3000. Those Shibaura engines are near impossible to find used anymore. Sometimes its better to leave those alone.

just think.. for 3000$ he could have got a ready to work hundred series that would have pulled circles around that lawnmower..

Thanks for helping with my suspicions. Yes I agree at the asking price it is a big repair, but after looking more it really is not something
that should be repaired, even for free.
Thanks guys.

I used to own a Ford 1210 2WD Hydro that I let a friend talk me into selling him. Have regretted that one. It was a real little workhorse for its size. Ran all day long brush hogging on about 7 gals of diesel.

Now as to your question these can be found here in MO for $2,500 for basic 2WD no loader to $6,500 4WD with loader (Those don't sell very fast though).

Rusted and not running for $1,500 I agree keep looking. If you do find one they will work hard for you. Wish I had mine back but finally bought my first new tractor so probably will not wish that for long.
