Water in tractor fluids

I picked up a '63 Ford 2000 (4 cylinder) and the transmission, hydraulic, and differential fluids have not been changed in a long, long time. All three have lots of water. Can I drain the old fluids and then add a mixture of diesel fuel, ATF, and rubbing alcohol in all three reservoirs? (I read here that this can be done with the transmission reservoir.) Can anyone recommend a ratio of diesel, ATF, and alcohol? How long should I run the tractor with this mixture? Thanks for any help!

If it were mine and all systems were working properly at the present time.

I would drain all sumps, then add the proper oil to each if they are different in you tractor. Drive the tractor a while then change the oil again.

It will be more cost, to drain it twice, do not have to completely fill each sump, but not compared to you cleaning out some built up stuff in there and it breaking loose and getting into your lift system valves causing it to stop working properly.

Just my two cents from my cleaning out a perfectly good running ford car motor one time years ago with kerosene, motor ran like a top, I cleaned it out, then it started smoking, still ran good, but smoked, so I have always been a little gun shy on the heavy cleaning process,

Whatever, get that water out of there!

I would not put anything other than the correct oil in the engine or hydraulic sump. The transmission.... maybe. I'd just use it enough to get it fully warmed up, then drain over night. Put fresh oil in and use it. If the new oil shows contamination after a few days, repeat.

I hope you realize that there are commercial products for the hyds ( and transmissions that are specifically for dewatering using alcohol.

I think I have flushed the rear 3 sumps on every machine i have owned using atf, diesel, and alcohol.

Have yet to ever have a problem.

No.. wouldn't flush the crankcase with that however.
