6600 Bleeding injector

6600 with Simms injector pump. Tractor been setting about 14months. I was able to get system bleed up through bleed screws on side of
pump. Cannot get fuel to come out at end of injector lines. Have I missed something? Any help or suggestions?

Bleed the filter head first, with a full tank of fuel. Open that bleeder and pump the lever on the lift pump until you get good big shots of fuel from the bleeder. Once you got that, make sure the shutoff is pushed in, the throttle is pulle dall the way back and crank for 30 seconds or so. If it shoots fuel, great. If it doesn't, give it a rest for a minute and try again. It should throw fuel by then. If it doesn't then I'd say the rack or plungers are stuck in the pump. If you're not getting good big shots of fuel at the filter head while bleeding that... then I would say the lift pump may be bad...

Xs 2 with Rod, probably a stuck rack. Only takes one stuck plunger to stick the rack. Cambox oil been changed on a regular basis? Does it have biodiesel in the fuel?

I would 3rd what Rod and dieseltech said. In addition, check to make sure that the shutoff lever is fully in the run position. More than once I've seen the shutoff cable slip and do what you describe.

I drained the injector (cam box). Appeared to only have old diesel fuel...and not much. Any tricks to get the rack unstuck?

Remove the side cover, see if the rack moves at all. If not use your favorite panther juice and spray the each lower plunger barrel. Watch each tappet spring while cranking the engine, all should go up/down. Any that stay up are stuck, with that tappet down GENTLY try to pry it down with a screwdriver. If you can get it to move it should free up eventually. I've seen some that are really rusty that need torn down though. Check each tappet spring too, they are known to break..

I assume your talking about the rectangular cover on the side about 1 1/2" tall by 4" long. It's held on by two bolts I think.....what the trick to removing this cover...as I don't wish to drop anything inside the pump and/or foul up anything?

I was able to remove the cover without anything falling into the pump. Can see the plungers moving up and down. Guessing they move about 1/4" up/down. Seems o.k., but I got nothing to which compare. The fuel shut-off lever on the side of the pump is forward relative to the pump (fuel on). Throttle is wide open. Getting plenty of fuel to the pump via the lift pump. Still will not move any fuel out the top of the pump to the injector lines. Any other ideas?

So with the throttle set at max, what happens when you pull the shutoff out? Does the rack and linkage move forward?

You might have something.....If your talking about something moving inside the pump when viewed with the side cover removed...then I do not see anything move as you move the fuel shut off lever fore/aft. Understand...this my first time looking inside this pump....so should I see something move as I move the fuel shut-off lever?....I think this thing that moves your calling the "rack"?

With the throttle set about 1/3 above idle or more the rack must move when the stop cable is turned off/on. Just one stuck plunger will keep it from moving as it should. If pump is really rusty inside it may have cam bearing and governor damage too..

Got the rack unstuck and moving. Bleed fuel easily to injectors. Tractor now running. Thanks for help!
