TW-20 vs case 1175

Only ford I have been around is dad's 800. Looking at TW-20...have been wanting cab and air for a while...probably use my massey 1130 the most right now, but was thinking a case 1175 might be a good option to consider for cab / air upgrade? TW-20 in the area (indiana) how would you rate the tractor? cab? air? Any comparisons to case 1175 or massey 1130 would be appreciated. What is value in good shape with 6,000 hours?
Thanks Reaver

There are a number of both the Ford and the Case on tractor house right now. $6,000 looks low for TW-20 and average for the Case.

I've driven a 1070 Case. A TW20's cab is nicer - two doors, quieter. The 70 series Case tractors always seemed slow, heavy, and ungainly compared to similar h.p. Fords.

I have had both and both are very good tractors but if I was going to farm a lot and use it daily I would have to go with the Ford. Just for cab alone it is by far better, plus if it is like most TW20 it has dual power which the Case does not have. The hydraulics are better. If there is a problem with the TW is that it is a sleeveless engine and if they did not keep the coolant changed or up to grade you could have cavitation. But this can be repaired as if you do an overhaul.

The wet brakes in the ford over the dry in the case would seal the deal for me. Plus 1175s had more than there share of rear end troubles.

The brakes would by far seal the deal with me. The rear end and transmission on the case can get expensive if they haven't been taken care of. The dry brakes are dangerous. Especially if you kill it on a hill. We had a 1070 and it was a heck of a stout tractor but personally I hated it. Big and bulky. Sit up so high it felt unstable. Cousin was feeding hay with it and stopped to talk to me for a second and killed it when he took off and started rolling down hill where his 10 year old daughter had just rode up on her atv. Needless to say we totaled a pickup to keep it from hitting her. That was the beginning of the end for the 1070. Tw's are great but personally I would look for a 9700. I just really like them. We traded the 8700 and 9700 on an 8870 to plant with but had to eventually go find another 9700 so everyone would be happy. They are just a heck of a tractor and I really like the dual power
