I have the lift cover off ,and made some repairs to the touch control linkage . I replaced "0" rings etc. , but I cannot locate a piston ring compressor to replace the seals on the piston ---tried two auto part stores near me ,and they don't carry them. Is it possible to replace these seals by hand . --or does anyone know any one who sells them ? I'm in N.E. pa. Thanks

I have never used a ring compressor to do the lift cylinder and have done a few and all worked just fine

I use a ring compressor designed for small engines though you should be able to do it without one if you have the OEM cylinder with the counterbored bore.

remember, a ring compressor isn't much mor ethan a roll of flashing and clamps.... EZ to make, if needed.

I've had problems getting piston in without a ring compressor. Lacking one I would think you could use a screw type hose clamp. Worth a try.
