Ford 2000 specs

I need early Industrial Ford 2000(1963 ?) tune up specs. It's 4 cylinder /gas. Plug gap-point gap-valve clearance-firing order and is # 1 cylinder in the front or the rear? Thanks, gregjo1948

Number 1 is at the front near the radiator.
Point gap and plug gap .025.
Firing order is 1243 CW.

Be mindful of where #1 wire is on the cap.
If it runs now, put #1 back there regardless of what the cap says.
If it doesn't run, roll it over by hand until #1 piston is at TDC and
see which post the rotor points to. Use that post for #1.

Thanks for the info. I got it running but I don't know how to operate the select-o-speed. I can move the tractor by pushing it so, it's not in park. I can move the shift
handle to any/all positions and the tractor does not move. The PTO and 3 pt. hitch seem to be working. Any ideas? Am I missing something? Thanks, gregjo1948

There is a disconnect on the side for the rear axle.
Disengage that to push/pull the tractor.
Make sure it is engaged to move it with the transmission.

If the tractor can be rolled easily, then hopefully the traction disconnect is in the disengaged position. If the traction disconnect is in the engaged position and the tractor can be rolled easily with the engine not running, then it has serious problems.

I guess it has serious problems. I pulled the side cover and with the engine running, and the disconnect disengaged, the shaft is turning. When engaged, it won't turn. What are the electrical wires for? One goes into the top cover and the other goes into the side cover. Where do I start and where can I get parts? Thanks, gregjo1948

The wire going into the top of the trans is for the starter safety switch, which should only allow the starter to function when the transmission selector is in Park.

The wire going into the side of the transmission is for the pressure sender for the low pressure warning light.

I don't have a low pressure light...just the wire sticking out of the side cover. The from the top goes to a push button for the starter. It must complete a circuit only when in park. Thanks for the info, gregjo1948

Where do you add fluid to this sos trans and check the level? I have a dip stick on the left side with markings on both sides which are different.

I'm not 100% sure if the S-O-S on the earlier 4 cylinder 2000's are like hte ones on th e3000's, but if they are, there is a single hole on the right side, near where your right tow is when you're sitting on the tractor that has a square headed pipe plug in it. That hole is both the fill hole and the level check hole, use a flexible funnel, or screw a pipe in the hole with an elbow on it to fill it, and then fill it until oil just begins to drip out of the hole.

The dipstick on the left side is just for the 3 point hydraulics sump. The markings on the other side of the dipstick are to check the fluid level in the front pedestal of the rowcrop models.

Will Tractor Supply Super S Super Trac 303 hydraulic fluid be OK for the SOS and the hydraulic? Is there a filter for the SOS? Thanks for your help, gregjo1948

gregjo1948 I'm going to stay out of most of the SOS conversations
because I don't have a lot of experience with them other than
the one I own but as far as I know the filter has been NLA for
quite some time. Tony Jacobs is trying to get some made for us.

You should use a fluid that says on the label that it meets the Ford/New Holland M2C134D specification. I'm not sure if the one you mentioned says that or not, but I do know that the one at tractor Supply called "Traveller Premium Universal Tractor/Trans hydraulic Fluid" does say on the label that it meets that spec.

Also, I believe that Tony Jacobs did get a batch of the filters made and that they are being sold by Dennis Carpenter:
