801 compression

Have a 801 that has low (20 lbs) compression on the #2 & #3 cylinders. Pulled off the head off and found that the head gasket had a gap between these 2 cylinders. Would this be the cause of the low compression or is it something more-like bad rings or valves. The compression on the #1 and #4 cylinders is 130 & 140 lbs. It starts and runs as is but sure does not have much in the way of power.

I would take the head to my machine shop and have it checked
for cracks and to make sure it was flat. Might also have them
check and re-do the valves while it's there if needed.

Gasket blown between those 2 cylinder would in fact make for low compression in both of them. If I remember right each cylinder would be sitting one at the top and one at the bottom so bad gasket between them means very low compression

After removing the head and cleaning the deck of the block, check the surface between the two holes where the gasket was gone. If the situation existed for very long the deck can become eroded and rough, interfering with the sealing of a new head gasket.

Got the compression back--took off the head and found that about 1 inch of the gasket was missing
between the cylinders. Got new gaskets and put it back together. Works now. Thanks for the help.
