need help sizing an injector

injector is a bosch

KDEL 65S1/13

I need to know what 'size' that injector is.

Long story:

I have a JD 790D excavator with a blown head. Head is an R61521 ( crosses with a JD 4840, 4640 and 4440 plus many others )

I can find a few reman'd ( and welded ) heads for sale, but hit a snag.. at least a couple of the selelrs say there are 3 possible injector hole sizes.

Anyone know what size this injector is?

Thanks Ill check I out.

I think I got lucky, that jd 790d excavator shares an engine with 4x40 series Deere. I located a reman at wengers, and a headset at agparts. Bolts I had to get at the local dealer. I would have got the head and gaskets there, but the headset was 100$ vs 330$ and head 1200$ vs 2800$, both bare with new seats and guides.

That Bosch injector has it's own nut to thread into the head, think it's 21 MM size if I remember right. It fit several JD engines, but had different nozzle tips that fit that holder. Don't understand why they need the size if there's only one head #. There were also Denso injectors on Deere engines too that looked like the Bosch.

I'm not sure why they needed it either unless they were trying to sub a different head.

That head # fits about 10 tractors, 10 industrial machines, and another 20 'other' things like gleaners.

I found out thru research that a variation of that head also fits others. It may be someone was trying to sub me a 'variant' head and checking injector hole size.

I SHOULD have a reman head coming from wengers.
