Thinking about trading for a 641 or 651

...and I'm just curious how good of a tractor these are. what trouble spots do I need to look for? The guy is interested in my '79 chevy c10, worth about $2000. I'd that a fair trade of the tractor runs drives and stops? Thanks in advance!

Here's a pic of it:

Hi, if the tires are good, the hydraulics work and hold well, and there are no major engine problems, then I would say that is a fair price, or even a good price, around here in PA. Parts are easy to get, repairs are easy to do, and the tractor will last a long time. For a real comparison, go to a Home Depot and look at the $3000+ cheap sheet metal/plastic lawn tractors that they sell.

very good model tractor (and $2k ain't bad)
but
let's see the truck....
I've been casually keeping my eye out for a square styled Chevy truck.....pretty scarce up here in the rust belt.
so depending on the truck...might be a good trade...might not.

Sure! It's my daily driver, has130000 miles on it. There's some rust, particularly behind the wheel opening in the bed, but the rockets are solid. It's got an olds 350 out of a '68 Cutlass in it, so it's pretty gutsy too! But...I don't need it, and this old Fors might be more useful for me right now.

Those old Chev where known to be rust catchers and all it took was to get one wet and they would rust. I have a 1980 Chev heavy half that has cab sag big time and has places where when you drive it down the road you watch the road go by but it still does its job when I want it to

If you are needing a tractor and don't need the pickup then make the deal happen, from the looks of the tractor it would easily bring $2500-2800 where I live in south Alabama, have seen those painted up with decent tires go for $3500, you would definitely be getting the better end of the deal......

A Chevy truck with an Olds engine in it would not fetch much around here
Nice looking ford. I would trade if I were you

looks like a fair deal........for your area...this can't be ny.

funny how different areas have such different values on stuff.
We see it all the time pricing tractors here.
Up here in WNY...rust has taken out most old vehicles....and having to have everything after 1995 plugged into the states computer every year.....the old ones climb in value.
Every old truck I've looked at has been 4 times worse condition,
at twice the price of yours.........
