Ford 3600 Air Filter Housing

Does anyone have an air filter housing for a ford 3600. Mine has the oil bath filter and I want to change it to a paper filter setup but I can't find the required canister.

I know people are going to say not to change it. I don't care. I hate the oil bath filter. Its a PITA every time I service it. I have to take the bumper off and the grill and then fight the O-ring when putting it back together.

People are also going to say the 3600 didn't come with an oil bath. Some of the early 1975 production came with the oil bath, then they switched to the paper filter.

I'm sure several other models had the same or similar air filter so I'd be open to anything I can make work

Let me know if you have one or know where I can get one.
Thanks
Gary

I assume that yours is a diesel, as the gasoline 3600's always had a dry air filter. The dry filter housing for the diesels was different from the the gassers, and you will need to cut a hole in the right side of your nose cone to make it fit. Probably need to drill some holes in the sheet metal above the radiator as well for the mounting bolts. Part number of the main housing is D6NN9600D and partspring.com claims to have 7 of them in stock, which means that they are probably available through any New Holland dealer. Be prepared for sticker shock, as the price on partspring price $590.00, and they are pretty consistent with what any other New Holland dealer will be asking. And that doesn't include any tubing or hoses that you'll need to do the conversion. May be able to find one for a little less at a scrap yard.
