Was wondering what year my tractor was built...

I found these numbers on the engine block:
DONN 6015 J 60L (L maybe C)14
*0621 317* 4020B

On the front end loader:290349 with an S in a circle I think I have a 730 or 735 front end loader not sure.

Rear Axle: #67NN-4024 3(?)
W -(in a circle) 2410.

Thanks for your help.

D0NN6015J indicates the engine was made in 1970 or later, but that only tells you about the engine and that might have been swapped out at some point.

The numbers that you need to tell you when the tractor was assembled are stamped into a flat spot on the right side of the transmission bell housing that faces up just above the two large bolt holes that are just to the rear of the tractor from the starter. Here's a picture that another member posted showing the location of the numbers. Note that usually only two of the three numbers are on that smooth part of the flat spot and the third number is usually up on the rough part so it is harder to find and to read.

The same numbers might also be on a foil sticker on the under side of the right side hood panel, above the battery. Here's what the sticker would look like if it's still there on your tractor:

If you can find those numbers and post them here we can tell you when it was made.

It took a while to find the number location and even longer to wipe off the dirt/grease that was hiding the numbers. Got a better view under the hood on the foil. This was what I found:

Tractor Number-C428499
Model-C4012K
Engine-4020B

Model-C4012K says that it is a 3400 with a diesel engine, 6x4 manual reversing transmission and transmission driven (non-live) PTO.

Tractor Number-C428499 is the serial number, which makes it a 1974 tractor.

Engine-4020B - Did you get this off of the sticker under the hood, or stamped into the flat spot on the bell housing? If it is from the sticker and is where it says Engine, then it should be the date code for the assembly of the engine, but if it is stamped into the flat spot it is the Unit Number, not the Engine Number, which is when the tractor itself was assembled, not the engine. In either case it is likely 4C20B, as the second character should be a letter, not a number, and it can't be the letter "O" because they only used letters A through M in that position to indicate the month (they skipped "I" because it looks too much like a "1" and a "J") . Which would mean that the engine or the tractor was assembled on March 20, 1974 during the day shift. If it is the engine number form the sticker, can you post the Unit Number from the sticker as well, as that will tell us exactly when the tractor was assembled, which is likely a few weeks to a few months after the engine was assembled.

Hi Sean,

The engine number is from the foil under the hood. I will try to check the unit number tomorrow. Some of the numbers are hard to read. Thanks for your reply!
