3000 hydraulics

Our tractor club has a Ford 3000 with front end loader. Everything runs fine, BUT, every once in awhile the front end loader hydraulics won't respond at all. A couple days later after sitting, it will start up & front end loader hydraulics will work just fine. It's starting to do it again. What can be going on. Lever to control hydraulics (along right hand side of seat) seems okay. We're baffled!

Lets be clear.. the hyd controlls for the loader are mounted to the top cover and using tractor hyds? or are mounted on the fender and use a front pump?

if tractor hyds, have you noticed if the 3pt fails to work when the loader fails to work? if so. you are probably experiencing loss of prime onthe pump, and some days it is priming faster than others.

We're using tractor hydraulics. But I didn't check to see if 3 point is working when front loader is not working. I'll try to check that out. Thanks!
