ARPS snowblower

I picked up another piece of equipment to add to my arsenal for snow removal. After unloading it off my trailer my wife was quick to say move that hunk of junk behind the barn so I don't have to look at it. Hopefully she will think better of it once the snow flies. Buying this snowblower will insure I will get no more than 4" of snow all season, but that Ok. Anybody have the ARPS snowblower or use one?

We used to have one that was purchased new. We ran it with a Ferguson TO30. It did a pretty fair job of moving snow, but it's capacity was limited by the PTO of the Ferguson. I got pretty good at popping it into neutral and letting the blower clear itself when the snow was deep. Reverse was just too fast and the tractor did not have live or independent PTO. It would move snow, though. If we had put it on our Massey 65 later, it would have been a competent machine. I just had to always be mindful of where I was aiming the discharge. Gravel is pretty tough on windows.

Snowblowers on tractors is a sure way to find lost chains or tools. Be sure to have the area cleaned well before the snow flies.

I have one just like yours. Tried it out 2 winters ago with real deep snow. I used a 960, blew snow good but need slower reverse.A hydrostatic tractor would be ideal.
