In regards to the 8N with the 18.4 X 16.1 tires, I can only find 16 X 16.1 wheels in 8 bolt on 8" circle. I think we need 8 bolt on 6" circle for an 8N or my 600 series so I assume you made new centers or some sort of adapters? Do you know what the offset on the wheel is? I think THIS is the way for me to go. It'll slow the tractor down and get me off 1st gear. Might even give me use of the installed Sherman Step Up.

I have a set of adapters that lets a guy use A/C centers and rims on an 8N or newer tractors. We had them on a 8N we had but later found the correct centers and rims for it and they are now laying in my shop on the shop fridge
 
I have a set of rims that will fit right on an 8N or 600, they are off of a 2000 LCG tractor I have pics somewhere

You've offered those wheels to me before. I will be using new tires on new wheels so thanks but no thanks.

I sold the tractor but you can sorta see in the pic
the offset....16" wide wheels.
(look at the right rear and you can see how far that brake drum is inside that wide wheel)
Yes, I used adapters. They were on another Ford I bought
that had the same size tires...that tractor had an offset where they stuck out very wide.
I sold the adapters with the pictured 8N.
UltraDog was kind enough to sell me another set of adapters for my next project. So, they are out there.
UltraDog can tell you more on what they came off of.

You might want to call TuckerTire.
In the recent past they were selling that size tire (or close to it)
on Ford NAA wheels, which would be a bolt-on for your tractor.
Lots of 'lowrider' Fords out there, a google search might turn up some pics.

lotta expense and work though...
like the poster said in your other thread,
going with small 24's might be easier.
You can find them on Ford 8 on 6" wheels pretty easy.
and 11.2 or 12.4, 24's are pretty small.
Industrial R4's are also pretty common in 24's with the small Ford pattern.

My frontrunner setup right now is 18.4X16.1 06 TITAN TORC-TRAC R-3's. They're a little over 43" tall compared to my R-1's that are around 48" tall. The net result would be 18.4" width vs. 12.4", turf instead of lug and a potential speed reduction of 10%ish. It would lower the back end about 2.5" which would not be very noticeable I don't think. The 11L15's going on the front look like they will be the same height or slightly taller than the 3 ribs coming off. If I throw this all out the window I'm ordering 12.4 X 28 BKT turfs and getting on with it. That saves a ton of money but offers no speed reduction, no dramatic change in floatation and a net loss in traction. ME Miller should be delivering my 11L15 and wheels any day so I will complete the front end first, run it, take pictures then dive into the rear tires once and for all.
 
couple things here.

1- marty you must have a pretty boring life because you spent entirely too much time worrying about tires. I wouldn't have even changed the tires on your machine now based on the pics you posted.

2- what are you trying to mow that first gear is too fast? unless you are in extremely tight corners trying to maneuver around things 1st gear should be fine for finish mowing.

I don't know about too much time on my hands or boring life but I have serious OCD. If you saw a closeup of my rear tires you'd understand why I want them off. The pictures I have posted make the rear tires look MUCH nicer than they are. The tractor is that nice and deserves better than the tires that are on it. As for speed, using the John Deere 770 w/60" belly mower as well as a 54" deck on a Cub Cadet, we took a parcel from jungle to almost golf course in short order. We bought an adjacent 12 acres of jungle and have it reduced to simple grass fields already. We want to maintain a high quality cut job and not scar the ground and want to do it with the Ford 640 and 72" finish mower. So, first to go are the 3 rib front tires which are visibly leaving an impression in the ground when traveling straight and scarring in tight turns. Believe me, compared to every video I have seen of people "mowing" on old Ford tractors, I am going much slower and much more deliberate and careful with my turns. I'd like to be able to go a little slower ground speed at full pto speed to give the finish mower a little more dwell time. Once the fronts are on I'll pull the trigger on the rear. It's worth the time to try to get this right as they will be with me for years to come. I'm not a buyer/seller sort of guy. Once I own something, I generally have it for a long time.

We went from several years of very successful hydroplane racing and a lot of travel to staying home and focusing on a 22 acre property in rural Indiana. I've sort of replaced the race boat with a Ford 640. I'll probably have an 8N some day and no doubt will have an 800 series too. I don't NEED them, I want to help preserve them for the future.
