Tractor Data post that a 800 series only has 44hp, where a 801 series has 62hp. Both engines are a 172 or 2.8 ltr.
Both appear to have the same rebuild kits.

Do any of you know what is actual versus Data.

take that data with a grain of salt.

for the most part. 8xx all do the same work, and the large carb models are hungrier. expect usefull hp in the upper end of the 40's range at the pto.

slight differences in lp and diesel.. but by and far.. they are interchangeable for work.. though some are more economical on fuel.

The 62 hp you sometimes see is brake hp for the engine itself. The Ford service manual for the 800/801/4000 shows the brake hp for the 172 Cu. In. gasoline engine as 62.6 @ 2200 rpm regardless of what series tractor it was installed in. It also states that this is less air cleaner, fan, and muffler. Of course tractor hp is usually specified by drawbar or pto hp which is what the 44 hp is (approximately).

Do not trust tractor data.

The 8*0 series has approximately 43.5 PTO HP. The 8*1 tractors with gear drive transmissions have approximately 48 PTO HP.

The 62 HP figure sounds like a flywheel HP figure, perhaps inflated a bit.

Have precise NE test data but not at home.

Same engine, gross HP is rated at 56 but tested drawbar is 44.4 HP which is real plow pulling HP. Tractordata has gross at 62 HP, possible misprint.
Anyway, 800, 900, 801 and 901 series are same engine and HP in the gassers.
