Getting exact model number

I have a Ford 2000 Industrial tractor with the loader. I need to order some parts, but am unclear as to which as there are more than one selection.

So I would like to confirm that I have what i think I have. I found the numbers stamped onto the flat surface to the left of the bottom of the air cleaner. Can someone tell me from these numbers exactly what I have?

They are:

21301 S
42817

Thank You
George

PS.. that works out to:

2 134/gas / 144 diesel
1 industrial / ag model post 1963
30 light industrial / utility w/ non adj axle
1 ( *1**1 ) 4spd w/ trans pto

S sherman tranny

does that match what you see on the tractor? remember.. trannies with model #'s get swapped.

Yes, That matches what I have.

So Does that confirm it is a 2000 Industrial?

Is so should I use the above info to make sure I am getting the correct parts when looking at the Ford 2000 section?

Thanks Again
George

Light industrial.

Lots of that tractor will be very similar to a 640/641/4 cyl 2000

DO make sure you are looking at 4 cyl 2000 and not 3 cyl 2000 parts.

What parts are you getting?

(quoted from post at 12:09:24 09/17/15) Right now a starter solenoid, starter button, and gas line.

Something to consider........
While going to Ford parts route is by the book you may do just as well, or perhaps better, to search for a farm or automotive starter rebuild center. Most of the solenoids they used were similar and most can be totally reconditioned or matched by aftermarket specialty shops or even farm equipment dealer shops.
You can get a starter button from NAPA as well as gas line.
Ford changed their part numbers a few times which can cause issues sometimes.

You do realize don't you, that the solenoid he I talking about is actually a relay only, and not Integra to the starter, nor is it serviceable.

I'd be surprised if Napa had that very, very specialized starter button that mounts thru the transmission top and interlocks the starter if the tractor is in gear.

These are common parts you can get here or farm stores, etc.

Fuel line". Easiest thing to do is just bend up son brake line.

Standard 4 terminal ford tractor relay, 55-64.. Same with the trans top button.

Gas line? Use brake line.. Easy..

Thank you all for great info. Would it work to use a momentary switch to ground for the starter button rather than the one on top of the tranny?

George

Work? Yes.. But defeats your safety starter scheme. It is not hard to remove the cover and replace the switch

Yes, but you would lose the safety feature of the original switch which would not let the starter engage unless the shifter was in neutral.

The main difference between your "light industrial" 2000 and the regular 4 cylinder 2000 agricultural chassis tractors is the front axle on yours is a single piece that does not allow you to adjust the width, and is heavier duty because it was designed for front end loader work, where the regular ag chassis models have a 3 piece front axle design that bolts together and allows you to adjust the width of the front wheels for whatever width of rows you had in your field, but they are inherently weaker than the single piece axle on the industrial model.
