Favorite Paint System & Color codes

Is there a consensus on a best paint system for these tractors? Open searches on the Internet show this topic has been beat to death a number of times. I could be talked into foregoing the automotive paint systems in favor of Rustoleum for my 1956 model 640. Sunrise Red perhaps and I'll have to figure something out for the gray.

If you are going with rusteloum you may want to check out this site. Look under painting.

I used PPG OMNI MTK with hardener. The code # is 70075
The sway bar is Sunrise Red on the left of screwdriver and Vermillion red on the right of the screwdriver.
I have just been gathering information, I was leaning toward the Sunrise Red but after painting a few drawbar parts with it (over PPG epoxy within the window) I was just not satisfied with the dry time (without hardener) and durability
I have decided to use the Vermillion Red(70075) with hardener.
I don't know about the gray for the 600 series tractor

I have decided to use the Rustoleum Sunrise Red for my waterpump and valve cover. Rustoleum Gloss Black for the Fan. That is my immediate need. I still have to decide on what to use for gray.

The Omni looks good and I have a lot of experience with Delfleet Essential single stage. I might reserve them for large projects like an entire stripped, media blasted and disassembled tractor or when doing the sheetmetal as a group.

just my opinion:

I think this is one of the best looking tractors of all brands, it may take a while to paint it.
but it sure looks good when finished.
so many different colors.

a long way from old Harry Ferguson, you can have any color as long as it is gray.
or henry ford with his cars, you can have any color as long as its black.
