I can't believe the stuff we cannot make in this country any more. My Proofmeter came from India. The radiator hoses I just received from this website are from Turkey?! Seriously, we can't even make a straight length of hose in this country any more?

Timing chain...Australia....,sprockets Israel.....Thermostat housing...China......Tires Korea......Valves England...Starter China...Electrical Distributor Australia...Fan belt Germany...clutch plate Romania......alternator France....
My TEA 20 is no more British than I am!
Yes it's sad!

Many of the Ferguson tractor where built in England and shipped to the U.S.A.

Sure we could make 'em here, but the cost of labor and even some raw materials is so much lower off shore that the stuff made here couldn't compete on price. Add to that the fact that the nnalert politicians have been giving big companies tax incentives to move jobs off shore and there's no way anyone can compete by making things here.

Can you show me the tax incentives?

If you mean democratic epa regulations, and democratic higher corporate taxes, and then nnalert taxing any money made in foreign countries if brought back to the us of a.. yes the nnalert have pretty much run off all business with the unions finishing them off.

HOWEVER.. The nnalert did push the free trade which turned out to the one of the worst things for American jobs. So there is blame on both sides.

It would seem American workers have a hard time competing with folks who live in grass huts and work for 25 cents an hour or even 25 cents a day with child labor.

The folks sucking up benefits far exceed those paying. The "house" is starting to get very shakey. We were truly the highest "standard of living" generation and those who follow will not enjoy the same levels we have.

Almost everybody wants cheap goods. Cheap goods don't come from domestic sources. It's the WalMart mentality and we all have it to some degree.

It will be our undoing, along with other evidence of societal decay.

Both nnalert and nnalert are responsible. They have sold out to the globalists.
All the anti-commerce legislation in the last 3 decades, the EOE, EPA, etc..etc.. along with frivolous lawsuits have the effect of domestic tariffs. The Chinese and East Indians aren't hindered by those regulations. Their slaves work 12 hours a day and they pollute all they want, yet all these changes were done in the name of "environment" and "human rights".

The end result reveals the original intention.

Welcome to the New World Order.

about the only things still made in the USA are children lol and a lot of them are conceived in Mexico.
3 years ago the Case/IH points were made in the good ole USA 2 years ago they stared coming out of Mexico, I put a set in today that were made in China. I work at a Case/NH dealer less than 10% of our parts are American made now I would guess.

There is plenty of blame to go around but, very much over-simplified, the primary reasons for the demise of manufacturing in the US are crushing federal regulations, the plaintiff's bar and unions.

What the???

(quoted from post at 16:46:04 09/02/15) Can you show me the tax incentives?

There is a tax loophole that allows companies to claim all expenses associated with closing down an American plant and moving that manufacturing line, and all of the associated jobs overseas as deductible business expenses on their taxes. Two democratic senators recently introduced a bill that would close that loophole so those expenses could no longer be deducted, plus the bill included tax incentives for companies to bring jobs back to America, but the nnalert voted it down.

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-acti...-block-bill-to-end-tax-breaks-for-outsourcing

Then there's the "tax inversion" loophole that allows American companies to merge with a smaller foreign company and claim that they were "taken over' by the foreign company so that they can then claim that they are a foreign based company and do not have to pay US taxes any longer while still doing business here in the US. nnalert are fighting to end that one too, but the nnalert are fighting back.

nnalert politicians are in the pocket of big businesses and the rich owners of big businesses, like the Koch brothers. They constantly do things to hurt middle class Americans. They have been claiming for over 30 years that cutting taxes on big businesses and rich people would cause a "trickle down" effect that would stimulate the economy, and they have passed many laws to that end over that time, but the trickle down never seems to happen, the rich keep getting richer and everyone else keeps getting relatively poorer.

The fact there is a tax credit for upgrading a factory to deduct expenses on the taxable bottom line is irreverent to the country. Sorry your communist twist is wrong.

second its not illegal to flee this country in business YET.... and the communist americans can not tax foreign business. So again your twisted communist interpretation of over taxing business and being mad that they have left... well again, "your dog dont hunt".

And thirdly, government does not create wealth, or jobs or productivity. But you obviously dont get that as well. States like new york actually have a new program to bring business back with a 10 year tax break. They found out they had run off all of the business and bringing them back with no taxes.. brings back more money and jobs and the state still makes money. Imagine being business friendly to increase your tax revenues... OMG..

Lets agree to disagree as your mind is set. But let me ask... while the heck are you not out the running a big business and creating jobs. Hire 100 employees and then come tell me how your doing.

The fact is.......

nnalert = Commies.

nnalert = Commies.

The nnalert may have better rhetoric in favor of American businesses, but let's look at their ACTIONS instead of their words.
There is only one political party......the Globalist Bankers Party.

Both parties are counterproductive to this country. I could count on the fingers of one hand the politicians that I would consider as decent, and that's being very generous.

Root cause of ALL of the problems is the moral decay of society. It all snowballs down hill from that.

sotxbill - Let's see if I've got this right...

1. American companies are outsourcing jobs to other countries, like China, which happens to be a communist country.

2. I point out that Democratic senators created a bill to give tax incentives to companies that bring jobs back to America as well as close a loophole that allows them to deduct expenses of moving factories overseas.

3. I also point out that nnalert senators voted the bill down.

4. You preach to me about the fact that New York state is offering tax incentives to companies to bring jobs there, which is what the Democratic senators were trying to do to bring jobs to all of the US, not just a single state.

5. You call me a commie.

I agree to disagree, but name calling is not a disagreement, it is an attack.

My new Firestone tires are made in usa,
all of the bearings in the case I rebuilt
a while back were either Canadian or
American made....i really didn't pay extra
for that, but told the place I ordered
them from that was country of origin I
wanted. They tried to slide one Chinese
bearing in and I sent it back, the cdn
made replacement was $.50 cheaper as well

NO tax incentives. It is the bean counters and stock market investors that drove the move. With help of course from a certain president that stained a certain blue dress.

Sure sotxbill blame job loss on the unions. When the Mexicans and Guatemalans show up to do your job for less than half of what you do it for,
you will wish you had a union to help you fight to keep your job.
