Reporting back on the pull in Maine. I won my first class, 3500 about fourteen in the class. the track was soft so some of the guys with "warmer" tractors that are usually tough couldn't hook very well. buddy with 901 got 2nd. Got greedy in 4500, ( no 4000) tried second and choked. Only two entries in 10,500 at 5mph, but I won with two toots of the horn in fifth. Then we had an informal no speed limit 10,500. I went out the end in 7 high spinning, weighing 9700. Arthritis.

Shetland Sheepdog, very dry here 2nd cut is really poor.

Well, I chased all over for 64 idiot bricks of Rowen this afternoon! Even the RCG is slow growing! I need another 150 to fill my orders! I'm hoping the RCG on the east side will do a li'l better.
Glad things came together for you today! Sounds like they got the show they wanted!
I trust you've heard that Billy Goat got himself an 8730 2wd with full power shift! That oughta satisfy him! LOL

Nice to hear you did well at the pull. Always nice to see the fords win the class and you probably had fun to boot.
Thanks for posting.

(quoted from post at 18:28:00 08/31/15) First place that's good, at 3500lbs how much moveable weight do you have and what size tire are you running?

Usually about 40 lbs. Sunday I had one forty pounder and my three pound insulated lunch bag on the back. On a hard track I can remove my weight bar and wheelie bars. and put 80 more in the front. Very few pulls require wheelie bars here although most of the regular guys have them. My tires are 15.5x38s which are more than I should have on a hard track, but on softer ones like yesterday they get the job done.

Sounds like you had a good day at the pull. Here is a picture of my puller, its a 1957 Ford 950. I pull 5700 lb class and 6200 lb class....I run 16.9-38 Firestones. Im very undersized for the classes, but have won many points championships on this tractor in these classes.

With 13.6 x 38 uncut tires and lighten rims I can run about 100lbs depending on the scales, but most pull start at 3500 and are topcut tires wich I run 15.5 x 38 top cuts and can run about 200lbs of weight. Here it is in 3750lb class with13.6 x 38 uncut tires.
