old sickle mower

How many of you still use old sicle mowers with your Fords, mine is an old John Deere model 39, cut around pond edges with it

I have 3 on the place and will be fixing one for a friend next week. Have one on a tractor I built just because I had the sickle bar mower that fit it. Have a JD #9 and an A/C belly mount for the B/C and the one I have to fix is a NH450 3 point mower

My new-to-me John Deere #9W mower mounted on my 1958 841-S. Still got a few kinks to work out on the mower, but I'm close to having it field-ready.

This not nearly as exotic as the other guys, but I have a 3 point mounted Ford 501 that I use exclusively for mowing hay. I put up about 2,000 small squares each year, and every one of them is grass hay that I mowed with my sickle bar mower.

Cut my 25 acres or so of hay with a Ford 960 or a 1720 with a 501 sickle mower behind it until just a week ago.

That was the cutting rig on this place mostly since the 1980s, maybe 1970s.

Just got a NH disc mower tho, on the Ford 5200 last week. Joy!

I got a MF sickle mower I forget the model number, but the Ford 3000 runs it well. Cut this little field for hay about a month ago.

On that one make sure the safety trip part works well or it will cost you big time. I had one of those and the safety did not trip when I hit a small tree with ti and broke the part that the bar is mounted to and the part would cost more then the whole mower did
