Ford 3000 Hydraulic Repair

The lift arms just kept getting slower and weaker so I finally decided to tear it apart and put a kit in the hydraulic cover.
I still have to clean the inside before I put it back together. How does the piston come out of the cylinder so the new O-rings can put on?

Thanks JMOR.

Bikerider the PTO shaft has to be pulled and I had to unbolt the PTO shift lever as well to get the shift fork out of the way, then undo the bolt on the rear end housing (In the pics it is the one that is not screwed in all the way.) Then you pull the filter tube out of the housing and twist the filter so that it will clear the drive shaft.

Like JMOR said apply air...slowly. I suggest placing a board a few inches in front of opening so when it pops out is less likely to fly across room and break itself or some thing else.

Crank the pressure down to about 20 and or use short bursts with your spray nozzle. Just had mine out a couple of weeks ago. The
board over the end is ok too for insurance. While you are in there run a crosshatch pattern with your cylinder hone to knock the glaze
off....fine rocks.

Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you. Got the Piston out and cleaned. Everything back together and the lift is back working properly.

That's a interesting statement

"to knock the glaze off"

Why in the ell would you do that on a o-ring set up... His lift cyl looks nice he did not say it did not..
