I have an naa coming soon. Was wondering is first gear any slower than the 8n is. I had a sweet little 8n,great for a lot of things,but for mowing,or bailing the ground speed was to fast for the pto. Once I got the pto rived up I was going to fast,for me anyway. Hoping to pull a finish mower with the naa. Thanks and have a gooden.

NAA might go a little faster as most have 12.4's on em and most 8N's have 11.2's
Don't matter though, the NAA with it's better engine and more power will make up for it.
And the live hydraulics on the NAA will make your 8N.......retire.

Thanks for the respond guys. A cousin is almost giving me this tractor so I cant really resale it. Already had an 851,861, and thats overkill for a finish mower. If the naa is to fast mow it will have an easy retirement for sure. A little corn planting,should work for spraying. Thanks again and have a gooden. Roger

Hi, I have a Jubilee and run a 6' finish mover off of it with an overrunning clutch on the pto. I usually run it in 3rd gear and it has no problems at all. If need be, I run it in 2nd, or even 1st, if I need to mow slowly to get around things. It handles a 5' bush hog easily too.
