the copper ground strap is broken inside distributor that connects to the points, can this be replaced easily, is there a replacement available, any suggestions?

The copper strip from the feedthrough on the side of the
distributor to the points can be replaced with a piece of wire
or made out of the copper strap from an old set of points.
They also sell new ones [b:c367f66c4e]here[/b:c367f66c4e] on YT.

Can the post be removed from the side of the distributor and replaced and if so can it be pressed or tapped out.

It shouldn't be that tough to remove. Tap it, or even wiggle it out.

Your New Holland dealer should have all the parts you require for the fix here, as well. They'll likely be pricey at NH though.

I don't have a New Holland dealer within 60 miles of me, I believe I will try to remove the post from the side of distributor tomorrow and fabricate something that will work , thanks....

Any part that is still available from New Holland can be ordered on line from either messicks,.com or partspring.com..

Called New Holland dealer about the copper distributor conductor, sais he could order me one for $32, no thanks. I just made me one with a copper wire and two wire connectors and after replacing two condensers to finally get a good one the old 4000 came to life.
