Wife said "get that tractor out of the basement!"

...it's only been in there 10 years.

You can tell I've robbed parts off this critter to keep my 8N as well as the neighbours 8N running.

About time to make this one whole and see what work she can do. This particular critter had a tree fall on it. You can see the bent steering shaft in the second to last photo. I bet the engine is wore out too.

lol nice pics
reminds my of years back when I had a 12' Starcraft aluminum V-hull boat, small motor and new trailer for it.
every fall and spring...in and out of the basement...
old house, no outside door except the small Bilco.
boat first then just barely the trailer...tilted it would fit thru.
put it back on the trailer in the basement.
someone going down there where you have to walk stooped over..
"Is that a boat?!?"

The day my wife tells me I HAVE to do something is the day I tell her where the door is. I wear the pants in the house and I am the one who brings in the $$ and that is just what to good book says also

Amen!

I've been ignoring her for 10 years.... I was looking for an excuse to restore this tractor - now I have one!

Can't think of a better use for the basement than storing tractors. Why does she want it out? So she can put something of hers there instead? Probably something girly
that you will have to walk around. Better to have her walk around an 8N.

I would use a different approach.
"Yes dear, I got it out of there like you said. That's why we're
building this new heated shop to store it in and work on it in."

Now Rich,

I appreciate all of your tractor knowledge and experience, but I hope your Bible comment was in jest. It would be a pity for somebody to believe that version of marriage was recommended or condoned by Scripture.

Well said!!!! I was thinking along the lines of "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."

You best do some reading then it does in fact say that the man should be the leader in the house hold etc etc etc.

Rich and all,

This is not the proper forum, so I will refrain from further comment. I invite Rich or anybody with sincere questions about the Bible, be it marriage related or other, to PM me. I have no formal "Bible" schooling, but have read it entirely and studied many aspects of His message.

Being a preachers son I too have read it for the most part cover to cover. My e-mail is always open. My wife vowed to love honor and OBEY so that is what I am getting at in this she will not tell me I can not do something or she is disobeying me

Wow! That's all I've got to say here, because Chris is correct. This isn't the forum to debate this issue! My email is also open! So for now, just Wow!

Why is this not the proper forum? I read the Terms Of Use and I saw nothing prohibiting the discussion of any subject. Perhaps I overlooked it. And I'm pretty certain that the owner(s) of this forum reserve that right.

What is wrong with two or more people talking about a subject of their choosing on this forum? If a person doesn't want to read it, it is that person's perogative to not read it. But as only a user, even a long time user, I do not believe that gives one the right or privledge tell someone what he may or may not talk about. I'm not going to actively participate in the discussion, but I would read along.

I see lots of people discussing things that are not tractor related, from time to time. No one tells them that they can't talk about that subject. Someone just recently asked about a F450 truck. That's not an antique tractor.

Most folks on this forum prefer to stay tractor related, though I likewise have seen and participated in discussions about automobiles, etc. If this were to continue as an open discussion it would likely belong in "Tractor Tales", the Off Topic forum.

Don't feel too bad. I had a disassembled aircraft in my basement for several years and that had to be carried up/down a flight of steps outside the french doors.

The wings were in the formal living room for several years. lol. We were young and didn't care what people thought. We were DOING, not whatever these people who walk around one handed all day tweeting each other about what they had for lunch. We're always into some project or another. A Ford classic tractor is next.

That all sounds real good till she gets tired of it. Then try telling that to a divorce judge!
