12' Rhino batwing is the largest I know of for 40 horse power , if you want 3 point I wouldn't go over 6' because the front end want stay on the ground .

Are you talking power wise or weight wise?
My 3000 has enough power to run my 6' #306 Bush Hog® brand rotary mower. But at 1100 lbs the tractor does have all it can handle to heft it around.
If you are talking about a SOB (some other brand) most of them are built cheaper and lighter than a Bush Hog® so either the 841 or 3000 would handle a 6' fine.

Either tractor should handle most (not all) 6' rotary cutters in just about all conditions.

One had better have some VERY low gearing to pull a 12' mower of any kind with 40 HP on anything but a golf course.

Well aware of that but you will be creeping with 40 HP (or 50 or 60...) if there is anything to cut.

I pull one with a farmall 340 in 4th gear and rarely have to slow down on knee high grass being clipped to 4-6" tall.
