I'm having trouble installing this spring inside the transmission housing. It's so strong I'm not sure how to get in place. Any tips would be appreciated!

That must be the old style return spring.I
haven't messed with one of those in several
years so can't remember how I did it.
Maybe take a big pair of channel locks and
have at it. It can be done tho. I have a
couple of times.
The new style spring is external and quite
easy.
