Spark plug ?

I needed spark plugs for my Ford 850 tractor, I forgot the plug when I went into town so had to cross reference to what they had. I ended up getting an Autolite 2635. While putting in the last plug I checked it against the old one and noticed that the Autolite was about 1/4" longer than the old plug. I finished putting them in and started the tractor up and it ran. I didn't hear any tapping or unusual noise so I shut the tractor off and pulled one of the plugs and it looked fine, wasn't collapsed like the piston hit it. My question is should I replace with the shorter plug or will the Autolite's be fine?

Don't know the heat range of that plug. The correct Autolite # is 437. There is likely more difference in those plugs than just the length. The long term performance may or may not be there in the 2635.

In addition to what's been said, if the threaded portion is too long and carbons up.. it makes it hard to remove from the head.

champion h12 ( 512 ) H10 the mentioned 437's ( 216 ) etc.

lots of correct parts out there.

your Autolite 2635 plug is 2 heat ranges colder than the oem H10 and 3 ranges colder than what most of us run...

My Ford came home with the wrong plugs in it , id have to clean them every 15-20 hrs of use or they'd foul up too much, when they were clean or "new" it ran fine. Ive been running the ngk brand, its worth a couple bucks to me to know the plug is never the problem!
